Executive Search | Process & Fees

When you choose our executive search services, be assured that the process we use is based on more than two decades of performing successful searches. The Kensington International executive search process includes milestones, unparalleled research, behavioral assessment, referencing and on-boarding as highlighted below.

Milestones
Because we are committed to completing our search work in less than 100 days, we have established critical milestones at 30 days, 45 days and 50 days. Knowing how important timely interviews are to you, we use these milestones to gauge the effectiveness of our strategy and promptly modify directions as needed.

Direct Research
Direct research into a list of jointly developed markets and companies is the lynchpin in our process. This critical component of our search process allows us to identify roughly 70% of the final candidates we recommend for your consideration.

Assessment/Referencing/Negotiations
To facilitate candidate assessment, we can perform a Leadership Effectiveness Analysis (LEA™) to evaluate six primary leadership characteristics and 22 distinct behaviors. As final candidates are selected, we conduct extensive reference, background and education checks to further validate candidate selection. Finally, we play an active (participating in or leading) role in bringing the negotiations with the chosen candidate to successful closure.

On-Boarding/Integration
With your concurrence, we can extend the value of the LEA™ candidate assessment by assisting both your organization and the newly appointed leader through the on-boarding process. Our goal with this optional service is to help you accelerate the return on your new talent investment.

Bypassing Blocking/Off-Limits Barriers
The “boutique” nature of our firm allows us to approach many, if not all, of your desired targets as we explore the talent market on your behalf. Blocking will not be an issue.

Fees

Our standard fee is 33% of the successful candidate’s first year anticipated total cash compensation.

Performance-Based Fees
Two-thirds of our fee is attached to specific milestones. Kensington International’s performance-based fees link our pay to our performance. Our fees are structured as follows:

  • One third of the fee upon initiation of each search
  • One third of the fee upon delivery of the interim research package (45 days)
  • Balance due upon completion of each search

Kensington International line-items all expenses for your review and processing. Expenses typically range from five to seven percent of the fee per position.
