Outplacement & Transition | Programs

Our coach-client relationship model of delivering outplacement and transition programs are always tailored to both company and individual needs. The program descriptions below provide an overview of the types of programs we most frequently provide. For more than 20 years, we have supported all types of needs – from simple to highly complex – at locations near and far.

Whatever the requirements, Kensington International has the experience, content, tools, and approach required to deliver a comprehensive program to successfully transition individuals and/or entire teams. We offer executive, individual, group, plant/facility shutdown and large-scale reductions-in-force programs. We also support individuals who are still employed and face difficult career decisions, as well as individuals who are relocating and have a working partner who would benefit from career transition assistance.

Our change/transition management programs have proven to be particularly effective in equipping executives, management teams and employees with the skills needed to address cultural, team and individual transition challenges resulting from mergers, acquisitions, staff reductions and other major business realignments.

Additionally, our portfolio of mature workforce programs help both mid and latter stage employees think through career/life options and be proactive in their approach.

Executive Transitions

Executives in transition face unique challenges, from the first moment that a decision is made to leave, through final transition into the new opportunity. In working with business leaders and senior managers around the globe, Kensington International has a wealth of experience in the full range of transition pursuits. Our coaches and resources are uniquely qualified to help executives navigate the full breadth and depth of options, including traditional employment, board engagement, entrepreneurial opportunities, private equity, business acquisition, or retirement readiness and planning. We help executives fully leverage their experiences, skills and values, no matter what path they choose.

Unique to Kensington International is our candidates’ opportunity to gain valuable insights and introductions from our Executive Search division. Candidates benefit from ready access to 20+ years of executive search experience, proprietary listings of recruiters, and introductions to Practice Leaders at other firms.

Master-certified coaches, with demonstrated success in partnering with executives, deliver these services. In addition, the coach and executive can tap members of The Kensington Advisory Group to access specialized guidance in personal financial planning; business startup and financing; franchising; private equity; executive employment and contract negotiation; and spouse/family transition support. As a successful venture which continues to be run by the original owners, Kensington International can provide exceptional support to those considering a business startup, franchise or acquisition.

Comprehensive Programs

Let us put our best career transition coaches, tools, methods and strategies to work for your transitioning employees. Program participants benefit from private, individualized coaching as they prepare for the job search, participate in assessments, prepare a strong resume, develop a personal marketing campaign, and hone their interviewing skills. To ensure smooth, effective transitions, our comprehensive programs include pre-separation consultations and support for the notifying managers, as well as onsite orientation sessions to help with the emotion-side of the separation event and to introduce services.

In our comprehensive programs, Kensington International provides candidate support that includes office resources, administrative services, group workshops and networking events. Behind the scenes, both candidates and coaches are supported by our online career portal which provides 24/7 access to technology training, tools, job search resources and research databases. While these resources contribute to candidate success, individualized coaching remains at the forefront of our comprehensive program delivery.

Consistent with our commitment to tailoring programs to your organization’s needs, we offer comprehensive programs that provide proactive coaching for periods of one, two, three or six months. Candidates continue to have access to resources in our online career portal until they land in a new position.

Group, Remote and Technology Enabled Programs

Kensington International’s group outplacement seminar programs are an efficient and cost-effective way to provide job search training to groups as small as six or as large as a training facility will accommodate. Depending upon the program selected, experienced job search coaches deliver one, two or three days of intensive training and counseling support.

Seminars typically include a situation analysis with instruction on job search focus, resume construction, personal marketing and interviewing skills. Longer seminars cover topics in greater depth and with more participant interaction, and can include additional topics and a limited amount of individualized coaching. Other ways to customize and enhance these group programs include technology enablement via our online career portal, extended periods of individual coaching, and/or office space and administrative support for 15, 30, 60 or 90 days.

Using our exceptional on-line career portal and web-enabled training and coaching resources we deliver exceptional programs to employees who are not provided more comprehensive programs, or for those who live in remote locations.

As always, we are expert at helping you to design a program that fits every unique situation and your budget.  We have vast experience is combining training, coaching and technology to deliver a high quality outcome as an alternative to the compromises that are often a part of competitive bid processes.

Mature Workforce Programs

While ”retirement” programs have traditionally been viewed as services provided to exiting or soon-to-exit employees, smart companies are now using a more strategic range of programs to support critical employee engagement and retention initiatives across broader age brackets. Developed in conjunction with renowned experts on aging, well-being, and the mature workforce, our programs include access to our online training and resources portal, workbooks and related materials, self-assessments for employees and spouses, and coaching support from certified coaches.

As thought leaders in talent management services, Kensington International is especially capable of supporting initiatives focusing on a broad range of topics including individual retirement planning, group retirement preparation workshops, executive retirement services, and “boomer” engagement and retention.
